Mihai Eminescu caricature

There is currently a major exhibition about Mihai Eminescu in his home country Romania.

He is generally regarded as their most famous and influential poet... Artists from all over the world were invited to portray him in their style. That's why I made this piece.

I first created the environment in Blender. I wanted to finish this first,
because I wasn't sure if I would have time and energy enough after I finished the character.

Then I made a rough version of the character in Character Creator. I imported that into my scene in Blender.

The clean-up and fine tuning of the character and everything else was done in Blender. Here it was almost ready...

... But the hair and mustache from Character Creator kept bothering me. I decided to recreate it in Blender...

That wasn't easy. Getting HAIR right in Blender is often difficult.
A lot of adjustments and test renders were needed to get it right. Too much trial and error for my liking !

But in the end it worked. Oof! Finished!
